National Litigation & Claims Management Attorney (Defense Focus)
What You'll Do
- Manage a high-volume national caseload, from early case assessment through resolution
- Lead defense-side discovery strategy, including identifying exposure risks and developing defensible positions
- Draft and oversee discovery responses, written discovery, and strategy across jurisdictions
- Partner with internal teams and outside counsel to ensure consistent, high-quality defense strategy
- Evaluate claims trends and litigation outcomes to reduce risk and improve efficiency at scale
- Support and enhance a national claims management program with a focus on defensibility and cost control
- Collaborate across teams to align litigation tactics with broader defense and risk management objectives
- Navigate evolving legal and regulatory issues impacting transportation, logistics, and related industries
What You Bring
- JD and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5+ years of defense litigation experience (insurance defense, trucking/transportation, general liability, or similar)
- Strong experience handling written discovery, depositions, and case strategy on the defense side
- Experience managing multi-jurisdictional matters or working with national clients
- Ability to handle high-volume litigation while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to assess risk, control exposure, and advise clients effectively
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
Preferred Experience
- Background in transportation, trucking, logistics, or fleet-related defense litigation
- Familiarity with catastrophic injury claims, commercial liability, or complex exposure cases
- Experience working with national clients or claims organizations
- Exposure to e-commerce or gig economy-related litigation trends
