We are partnered with a leading global construction company looking to bring on an Attorney in their Irvine, CA office to join their in-house legal team. This is a high-impact role supporting complex, large-scale projects across the U.S., with direct exposure to executive leadership and project teams.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being embedded in the business - partnering closely with operations, navigating risk in real time, and contributing to projects that have a tangible impact on communities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of construction and commercial agreements
  • Lead strategy around disputes, claims, and risk mitigation; oversee outside counsel on litigation matters
  • Represent the company in mediations and support arbitration proceedings
  • Draft and negotiate joint venture, partnership, and other corporate agreements
  • Advise senior leadership on legal, operational, regulatory, and governance matters
  • Collaborate closely with project teams and business partners to provide practical legal guidance
  • Develop and implement legal processes and risk-reduction strategies across the organization
  • Travel to project sites to support teams on-the-ground as needed

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) required
  • Active bar membership in New York or California
  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience, with exposure to public contracting
  • Proven experience advising on complex, high-stakes matters
  • Strong ability to balance legal risk with commercial priorities

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and avoid unnecessary legal jargon
  • Strong analytical and independent problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
