Dr. of Compliance/Risk
We're partnered with one of California's largest providers of services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, supporting ~4,000 employees across multiple states. We're assisting with the hiring a Director of Risk Management to build and lead a modern, proactive risk function in a fast-growing, mission-driven organization.
The Role
- Stand up and lead enterprise risk management across a multi-state, distributed workforce
- Partner with Legal, HR, and Operations to reduce liability while enabling safe, effective care
- Translate incidents and trends into scalable training, prevention, and process improvements
- Shape a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization
What You'll Do
- Lead incident management, investigations, claims support, and risk trend analysis
- Oversee key risk areas: employee safety, workers' comp, vehicles, and client-facing services
- Identify systemic risks and partner with L&D on organization-wide prevention strategies
- Build and refine risk and compliance frameworks in a high-growth environment
What We're Looking For
- 5-12 years of risk, compliance, or related experience in healthcare or human services
- Strong experience in multi-site environments, investigations, and incident management
- Strategic thinker who prefers proactive prevention over reactive response
- Bachelor's required; advanced degree or CPHRM (preferred)
