Commercial Counsel
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted legal advisor to a global fintech platform, providing practical guidance on a wide range of commercial, technology, and operational matters.
- Lead the review, drafting, and negotiation of software, data licensing, subscription, and other strategic commercial agreements.
- Partner with revenue, product, finance, and business teams to facilitate commercial transactions while balancing legal and business risk.
- Advise stakeholders on issues involving AI, data usage, technology products, intellectual property, privacy, and regulatory considerations.
- Help streamline contracting processes, enhance template documentation, and support legal operations and knowledge management initiatives.
- Collaborate with international legal and compliance teams to deliver consistent support across multiple jurisdictions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, with exposure to technology, SaaS, data licensing, or commercial contracting matters.
- Strong background in negotiating customer-facing and vendor agreements within a fast-paced business environment.
- Working knowledge of commercial law, intellectual property, privacy, and technology-related legal issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage competing priorities and provide solutions-oriented legal advice.
