Commercial Counsel
We are partnered with a privately held, global pharmaceutical manufacturer driven by a mission to improve patient outcomes through innovative therapies spanning multiple therapeutic areas. This position is based in Boston, MA, and offers the opportunity to join a growing and collaborative team dedicated to reinvesting in R&D. They are seeking a Commercial Counsel to report to the Deputy General Counsel and support research, development, and contracting matters. The ideal candidate will have in-house experience in the pharmaceutical industry, supporting medical affairs and commercial contracting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support for contracting activities across North American business functions and innovation initiatives, including drafting, reviewing, and finalizing a wide range of agreements.
- Assist in negotiations with external parties and offer strategic legal counsel to internal stakeholders on risk management and operational matters.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of contract templates, playbooks, and training materials to enhance contracting efficiency and compliance.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance colleagues across U.S. and global teams, and support select research and development activities under the guidance of senior legal leadership.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state (preferably Massachusetts)
- 4-7 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of contracts efficiently
