A highly regarded and established wealth management firm is seeking a Chief Trust Officer to play a pivotal leadership role within its growing fiduciary and wealth planning platform. This Chief Trust Officer will be responsible for leading the firm's trust and fiduciary business while serving as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families. Working closely with wealth advisors, estate planners, attorneys, accountants, and other centers of influence, this individual will help shape the continued growth and evolution of the firm's trust platform while maintaining the highest standards of fiduciary excellence.
The Chief Trust Officer will be responsible for:
- Leading all trust administration, fiduciary oversight, and trust operations activities across the organization.
- Reviewing and evaluating new trust, estate, and fiduciary relationships and presenting recommendations regarding account acceptance.
- Serving as a member of the Trust Committee and providing guidance on fiduciary matters and trust governance.
- Partnering with wealth advisors and planners to deliver sophisticated estate planning, trust, wealth transfer, and tax planning strategies.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to ultra-high-net-worth families on complex fiduciary and estate planning matters.
- Developing and maintaining referral relationships with attorneys, accountants, and other professional advisors.
- Overseeing fiduciary compliance, trust administration best practices, audits, and regulatory matters.
The Chief Trust Officer should have the following qualifications:
- 11 -12+ years of experience in trust and estates law, trust administration, fiduciary services, or private wealth management.
- Experience within a trust company, private bank, family office, wealth management firm, or trust and estates practice.
- Deep knowledge of fiduciary administration, estate planning, trust governance, and wealth transfer strategies.
- J.D. required; LL.M. in Taxation, CFP, or similar advanced credentials are a plus.
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to advise high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families.
- Proven leadership capabilities and an entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to contribute to a growing platform.
