Associate General Counsel, Tax - Alternative Investment Firm
We are currently partnered with a leading Alternative Investment firm who is seeking to add a Senior Tax Counsel to help with their booming private credit business. This individual will be a key growth hire and provide guidance to the firm in regards to their global tax strategy. You will be responsible for all tax aspects in regards to private credit transactions and working directly with the deal team on fund structuring matters. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of collaborative environment with exponential room for growth and the chance to lead on all tax matters.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on tax aspects in regards to private credit transactions
- Collaborate with the investment team on all tax structuring matters
- Provide legal guidance on partnership taxation, and the tax implications of cross-border financing structures
- Interpret tax laws and regulations affecting private credit, hedge funds, and high-net-worth individuals.
Requirements:
- JD from a top tier Law school
- 6+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm or in-house environment
- Experience with private credit transactions & investment funds
- Experience in U.S. federal, state, and international tax law as it applies to investment funds and private credit.
- Experience with fund structures including credit, hedge, and private equity funds
