What You'll Do:
As the Associate General Counsel, you'll work closely with business leaders to provide strategic legal counsel across a wide range of commercial real estate transactions. You'll play a key role in structuring, originating, and securitizing deals, while also overseeing environmental compliance and advising on entity formation and project financing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare legal documents, reports, and correspondence.
- Lead environmental practice oversight and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Advise on legal aspects of real estate financing and entity structuring.
- Collaborate with internal teams to anticipate talent needs and support growth.
- Develop and mentor legal staff through feedback and strategic development initiatives.
- Create and implement evaluation and recognition strategies across the legal team.
What You'll Bring:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing of the Minnesota State Bar.
- Minimum 10 years of legal experience in real estate services, law firms, or in-house counsel roles.
- Expertise in negotiating and closing complex land deals and navigating regulatory approvals.
- Strong knowledge of capital markets, including debt and equity financing.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Deep experience in tenant leasing and partnership formation (joint ventures, private funds).
- Hands-on experience with raw land, ground leases, and improved land transactions.
- Proven leadership in hiring, developing, and retaining top legal talent.
- A track record of setting strategic direction and achieving results through team leadership.
