Our client is a growing and well-established financial services company seeking an attorney to join its in-house legal team. This role offers broad exposure to corporate, commercial, operational, and regulatory matters, with significant interaction across business units and leadership teams.
This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who enjoys general corporate work, commercial transactions, and serving as a strategic business partner while gaining meaningful in-house experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Role Summary
The Corporate Counsel will provide legal support across a variety of corporate and business functions, helping the organization manage risk, support growth initiatives, and execute day-to-day operations. The attorney will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams on commercial agreements, corporate matters, governance initiatives, regulatory issues, and other business-critical projects.
Location: South Florida (Greater Fort Lauderdale area)
Work Arrangement: Full-time, on-site position requiring five days per week in the office. Candidates must currently reside in South Florida or be open to relocation.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, vendor contracts, and business arrangements.
- Advise business leaders on day-to-day corporate, transactional, and operational matters.
- Support corporate governance, entity management, and corporate recordkeeping.
- Assist with strategic business initiatives, partnerships, and other corporate transactions.
- Develop and maintain contract templates, policies, and internal legal processes.
- Conduct legal research and provide practical, business-focused guidance to stakeholders.
- Identify legal risks and recommend solutions that support business objectives.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on new products, services, and operational initiatives.
- Support compliance, regulatory, employment, and litigation matters as needed.
- Manage outside counsel relationships and special projects.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active U.S. bar admission.
- 2+ years of legal experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or in-house environment.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, research, and analytical skills.
- Experience supporting commercial transactions, corporate matters, or general business counseling.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Sound judgment and a practical, solutions-oriented approach to legal issues.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Interest in building a long-term career within a growing corporate legal department.
