1st US Legal Counsel - EMEA Software Company
An EMEA HQ software company is looking to hire their 1st US Legal Counsel to be based out of their growing Plano, Texas office. This role will be tasked with leading the US legal function, with a main emphasis on commercial transactions, while more broadly supporting day to day matters across product, regulatory, IP, and general corporate work. Reporting into the General Counsel based in EMEA, this is an opportunity to play a key role in expanding the business in the Americas.
The US Legal Counsel responsibilities include:
- Handling a high volume of both outbound and inbound sales transactions (SaaS, licensing, partnership, etc.)
- Supporting corporate administrative work and corporate compliance
- Engaging with product and engineering times to identify risk and compliance concerns before going to market
- Work to put playbooks and policies in place to help scale the legal function in the United States, such as implementing new Contract Lifecycle Management systems
The US Legal Counsel requirements include:
- The ideal candidate has 4-7+ years of relevant legal experience with a mix of law firm and in house experience preferred
- The ideal candidate should have direct experience working with high growth tech companies, ideally in the SaaS space
- JD and active bar membership requited
- Ability to commute and work in Plano, Texas office 3 days per week
