Trust and Estates Attorney
We are seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney on behalf of an exclusive client to join their Estates & Trusts Practice Group. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with Principals and senior attorneys in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estate Planning & Document Drafting: Prepare and review wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
- Tax & Fiduciary Planning: Advise on strategies to minimize estate and gift taxes, avoid probate, and establish/administer various trusts.
- Estate & Trust Administration: Guide clients through estate and trust administration, ensuring legal compliance and honoring the decedent's wishes.
- Fiduciary Litigation: Represent clients in will/trust contests, fiduciary disputes, and contested probate matters.
- Professional Collaboration: Work with financial advisors, accountants, and insurance professionals to deliver integrated planning solutions.
- Client Counseling: Conduct client meetings to understand goals and develop customized estate plans.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in complex estate planning and administration.
- LL.M. in Taxation (with Estates & Trusts focus) or CPA designation preferred.
- Admission to the Maryland Bar (or eligibility to sit) required.
- Admission to the DC, Virginia, or Florida Bars is a plus.
