Our client is a well-established, multi-state senior living organization dedicated to delivering exceptional care and services to residents across several communities. With a strong commitment to compassion, integrity, and operational excellence, they are seeking a skilled Litigation Counsel to join their in-house legal team.
Position Summary
The Litigation Counsel will be based in the North Bergen, NJ office and will be responsible for managing litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will bring 5-6 years of litigation experience, preferably within the healthcare, long-term care, or senior living sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all phases of litigation, including pre-litigation disputes, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
- Collaborate with outside counsel and internal stakeholders to develop and execute litigation strategies.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Provide legal risk assessments and strategic advice to internal departments.
- Support regulatory and compliance matters as needed.
- Assist with internal investigations and responses to subpoenas or government inquiries.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in New Jersey; Pennsylvania Bar admission is strongly preferred.
- 5-6 years of litigation experience, ideally in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Strong knowledge of civil procedure, litigation strategy, and evidentiary rules.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in healthcare, senior living, or long-term care litigation.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and risk management.
