Trade Compliance Manager
Overview
A global industrial organization is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to support and strengthen its enterprise compliance program. This individual will serve as a key resource for international trade compliance matters, partner closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate regulatory risk, and support compliance obligations associated with U.S. government contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor on U.S. and international trade compliance matters, including export controls, sanctions, licensing requirements, and import regulations.
- Provide practical guidance to business stakeholders on day-to-day import and export activities.
- Lead or support compliance reviews, risk assessments, internal audits, and regulatory inquiries.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs to increase awareness of trade-related requirements across the organization.
- Assist with the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of policies, procedures, and internal controls related to global trade activities.
- Support compliance due diligence efforts associated with acquisitions, integrations, and other strategic initiatives.
- Advise internal stakeholders on compliance requirements related to U.S. government contracts and subcontracting activities.
- Assist with interpreting contract requirements and evaluating associated compliance risks.
- Support responses to audits, reviews, government inquiries, and other oversight activities.
- Help develop and maintain compliance processes, controls, and training related to government contracting requirements.
- Participate in compliance assessments associated with acquisitions and newly integrated operations.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in international trade compliance and government contract compliance - experience within manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, or defense environments is highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of U.S. export control regulations, including ITAR and EAR.
- Experience with import/export operations, classifications, licensing, customs requirements, and related trade compliance processes.
- Working knowledge of U.S. government contracting regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and related compliance frameworks.
- Ability to travel ~25% of the time.
