Compensation: $250,000-$280,000 Base Salary + $70,000-$90,000 Target Bonus

A rapidly growing international banking institution is seeking a Senior Counsel, Finance & Specialty Lending to join its expanding U.S. legal team. This is a high-impact opportunity to serve as a trusted legal advisor to front-office deal teams supporting a diverse portfolio of financing transactions across the bank's corporate and institutional platforms.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for complex financing transactions across multiple business lines.
- Structure, review, negotiate, and execute credit agreements and related financing documentation.
- Partner directly with originators, credit professionals, risk teams, and senior business leaders throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Advise on transaction structuring, risk allocation, collateral arrangements, covenant packages, and regulatory considerations.
- Coordinate with external counsel while managing legal costs and ensuring efficient execution.
- Support portfolio management, amendments, waivers, restructurings, and workout matters as needed.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting lending and specialty finance activities.
Ideal Background
The team is particularly interested in attorneys with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Leveraged Finance
- Fund Finance
- Project Finance
Candidates may come from leading law firms, financial institutions, direct lenders, investment banks, or other sophisticated finance platforms.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
- Approximately 5-10+ years of relevant legal experience.
- Strong drafting and negotiation experience involving complex financing transactions.
- Ability to manage transactions independently while partnering effectively with commercial stakeholders.
- Excellent business judgment, communication skills, and attention to detail.
- Experience advising front-office teams in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment.
