Senior Corporate Counsel
Responsibilities
- Advise business stakeholders on a broad range of commercial and operational legal issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate customer, supplier, transportation, storage, and other commercial agreements.
- Support commercial transactions and business expansion initiatives across domestic and international markets.
- Provide guidance on trade, regulatory, compliance, and risk management matters.
- Assist with dispute resolution and claims management involving commercial relationships.
- Develop practical legal solutions that balance business objectives with risk considerations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support operational and strategic projects.
- Manage external counsel and contribute to legal process improvements and governance initiatives.
Desired Background
- J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 5+ years of legal experience gained in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
- Experience supporting sales, procurement, supply chain, logistics, transportation, or commercial operations.
- Background advising businesses in mining, industrial, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, or related sectors is preferred.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong business judgment, relationship-building skills, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
