Senior Contracts Counsel | New York, NY (Hybrid)
An established and mission-driven organization is seeking a Senior Contracts Counsel to join its legal team. Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, this position offers the opportunity to advise on a broad range of commercial, technology, and corporate contracting matters while partnering with stakeholders across the business.
Compensation: $200,000 - $225,000 Base
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the review, drafting, negotiation, and management of a wide range of commercial agreements.
- Own the full vendor contracting lifecycle, including complex SaaS, cloud, cybersecurity, software licensing, and consulting agreements.
- Partner with business stakeholders to provide practical, business-focused legal advice and drive contract negotiations to successful completion.
- Collaborate with vendor management and privacy teams on risk assessments, compliance considerations, policies, procedures, and contracting strategy.
- Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and service-level agreement (SLA) standards.
- Manage and enhance the organization's contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform and related processes.
- Coordinate with outside counsel and subject matter experts when specialized legal support is required.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of legal experience gained in-house and/or at a law firm.
- Significant experience negotiating commercial contracts, particularly SaaS, technology, cloud, cybersecurity, data-related, and vendor agreements.
- Strong understanding of risk allocation, contract strategy, and business-focused legal counseling.
- Familiarity with U.S. privacy laws and regulatory considerations.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Active U.S. bar admission required; New York admission preferred.
Work Arrangement:
- Hybrid schedule based in New York City (3 days in office).
