Senior Compliance Officer & Data Protection Officer (m/f/d)
Location: Germany | Fully Remote
Contract: 10 Months | 2 Days per Week
A reputable company within the aviation sector is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Officer & Data Protection Officer to support its compliance function on a part-time contractual basis. This is a confidential search on behalf of a well-established organisation operating in a highly regulated environment.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the company's compliance framework while serving as the designated Data Protection Officer, partnering with senior stakeholders across the business on governance, ethics, regulatory compliance, and data privacy matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and further develop the company's compliance management system
- Advise management and business units on compliance-related matters and regulatory obligations
- Design and deliver compliance training and awareness programmes
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and support the implementation of mitigation measures
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the organisation
- Investigate compliance concerns and support internal reviews where required
- Develop, review, and update internal policies, procedures, and controls
- Prepare compliance reporting for senior management and relevant committees
- Act as the designated Data Protection Officer (DPO)
- Advise the business on GDPR and wider data protection requirements
- Support privacy impact assessments, data governance initiatives, and incident management processes
- Engage with relevant authorities and external stakeholders when required
Your Profile
- Several years of professional experience in compliance, governance, risk, legal, audit, or a related control function
- Strong understanding of corporate compliance frameworks within a non-financial services environment
- Sound knowledge of GDPR and European data protection regulations
- Previous experience as a Data Protection Officer or privacy lead is advantageous
- Confident stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation
- Strong communication and training delivery capabilities
- Fluent German and English language skills
