A leading UK law firm is seeking a talented associate with 2-5 years' PQE to join its market‑leading Planning & Development team in London.
About the Role
You'll work closely with developers, investors, local authorities, housing associations, and major corporates on complex planning and regeneration projects across the UK. The team advises on some of the most high‑profile development schemes in London, providing cutting‑edge advice across planning, environmental, and infrastructure matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on all aspects of planning and development, including planning applications, appeals, inquiries, and judicial reviews
- Draft and negotiate Section 106 agreements, infrastructure agreements, and related development documents
- Support large‑scale regeneration, mixed‑use, residential, commercial, and energy projects
- Provide advice on planning strategy, CIL, EIA, heritage issues, and compulsory purchase
- Work collaboratively with real estate, construction, and environmental teams on cross‑practice mandates
Candidate Profile
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent common-law jurisdiction)
- 2-5 PQE within planning, real estate, or environmental law
- Strong grounding in UK planning law and major development processes
- Excellent drafting, communication, and negotiation skills
- Commercial, pragmatic, and able to build strong client relationships
