Real Estate Attorney - Mid-Level
Overview
This opportunity is for an experienced real estate transactional attorney to support a sophisticated real estate investment and transactions practice. The role involves advising on complex real estate matters, with a focus on joint ventures, financings, and investment structures across asset classes. The position offers meaningful responsibility, direct engagement on transactions, and the chance to work on high‑value, strategic real estate matters in a collaborative environment. The role is hybrid in New York.
Responsibilities
- Advise on real estate acquisitions and dispositions, including complex single‑asset and portfolio transactions
- Represent parties in construction and permanent financings, including work for both lender‑side and borrower‑side transactions
- Structure and negotiate equity joint venture investments, including entity formation and governance arrangements
- Support transactions involving REITs and real estate funds
- Work across all principal asset classes, including residential, industrial, office, retail, hospitality, and land
- Draft, review, and negotiate transaction, financing, and joint venture documentation through closing
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counterparties to deliver practical, business‑focused legal advice
Qualifications
- Experience handling real estate transactional matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and joint ventures
- Background with portfolio transactions, REITs, and real estate funds
- Strong experience with equity joint venture investments, transaction structuring, and entity formation
- Familiarity with a broad range of commercial real estate asset types
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly convey complex legal and business concepts
- Strong work ethic, team‑oriented approach, and interest in taking on increased responsibility
- Strong academic credentials
- Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility to waive in
- Willingness to work on a hybrid basis in New York
