Role Overview
We are seeking a Newly Qualified Funds Lawyer to join our London investment funds team. The role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of UK and international fund structures, advising leading fund managers, sponsors, and institutional investors across the funds lifecycle, from formation through to ongoing operation and strategic transactions.
This position is ideally suited to a recently qualified solicitor with strong training experience in investment funds or asset management, looking to develop their practice within a high‑quality private practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on the formation, structuring, and documentation of investment funds, including:
- Private equity
- Venture capital
- Real estate
- Credit and debt funds
- Infrastructure and alternative asset funds
- Drafting and reviewing key fund documentation such as:
- Limited partnership agreements
- Offering memoranda
- Subscription and side letter agreements
- Management and advisory agreements
- Supporting fund managers on regulatory, operational, and investor‑related matters
- Advising on ongoing fund matters, including closings, amendments, restructurings, and fund launches
- Assisting on co‑investment structures, secondaries, and GP‑led transactions (as appropriate to experience)
- Working closely with partners and senior associates, as well as coordinating with tax, regulatory, and international colleagues
- Managing matters efficiently, with increasing responsibility and client exposure as experience develops
Candidate Requirements
- England & Wales qualified solicitor (or imminently qualifying)
- Training contract experience in investment funds, asset management, or a related practice area
- Strong academic background
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and technical legal skills
- Commercially minded with a genuine interest in the funds and asset management sector
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to alternative investment funds and fund managers
- Familiarity with UK and EU regulatory frameworks (e.g. AIFMD)
- Experience working on international or cross‑border fund structures
