Medical Malpractice - Trial Attorney - NY
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Trial Attorney to join their team in White Plains or New York City. This role is ideal for a trial advocate who has taken verdicts and can manage a sophisticated caseload with support from a strong litigation team.
What You'll Do
As a key member of the Medical Malpractice group, you will:
- Independently manage a robust caseload involving complex medical malpractice matters.
- Oversee all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, and trial.
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trials, demonstrating strong advocacy and courtroom presence.
- Prepare and examine witnesses and develop compelling trial strategies.
- Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff on strategic legal approaches.
- Draft and argue dispositive and procedural motions.
- Prepare trial exhibits, presentations, and evidentiary materials.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, providing updates and legal counsel throughout the litigation process.
What You Bring
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admission to practice in New York
- 10+ years of trial experience, including verdicts
- Experience in Medical Malpractice and defense litigation
- Nursing home litigation experience (a plus)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Legal project management experience (a plus)
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $175,000 - $200,000 USD, plus eligibility for discretionary bonuses.
Compensation is determined based on experience, credentials, location, market conditions, and business needs.
