The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Legal Counsel to support major procurement, construction, and project‑execution initiatives. This is a hands‑on, strategic position offering meaningful ownership of complex commercial transactions, significant cross‑functional visibility, and the ability to shape processes within a rapidly evolving organization.
The role is remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate equipment supply agreements, EPC contracts, and related service agreements.
- Identify and mitigate contractual risks during negotiations and throughout project execution.
- Support claims strategy, contract administration, and compliance initiatives.
- Provide legal guidance to internal teams-including commercial, operations, technical, and asset management-across the full project lifecycle.
- Interface and negotiate directly with suppliers, EPC contractors, operators, and other project counterparties.
- Oversee and manage external counsel across various matters.
- Communicate material risks and practical solutions clearly to project leadership.
- Contribute to process improvements, template development, and best‑practice implementation.
- Participate in pre‑bid planning, helping shape risk strategy and commercial positioning.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- 3-5 years of experience in transactional law, with strong exposure to complex commercial agreements.
- Background in construction, EPC, infrastructure, or energy projects required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high‑value transactions simultaneously.
- Strong skills in contract negotiation, claims strategy, and risk mitigation.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and strategic thinking abilities.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and collaboration.
