Our client, a well-established energy company, is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its tight‑knit legal team. The organization provides large‑scale power solutions and supports a diverse mix of energy assets, with an emphasis on affordability, reliability, and long‑term sustainability. This will be a 6-9 month contract term with strong potential to convert to full‑time
Role Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for an energy attorney who enjoys hands‑on commercial work and wants to support rapidly evolving energy transactions. You'll play a key role in negotiating critical agreements as the company expands partnerships with developers and large‑scale energy users.
In this role, you will:
- Lead or support the negotiation of offtake agreements with energy developers
- Work on power purchase agreements (PPAs), including transactions involving high‑demand customers such as data centers
- Support projects involving solar, wind, and battery storage assets
- Collaborate closely with internal teams on deal structure, risk assessment, and execution
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 3-5 years of legal experience, preferably in commercial, transactional, or infrastructure work
- Prior power or energy sector experience - including PPAs, offtake agreements, or work with solar, wind, or battery storage projects
- Strong contract negotiation skills and comfort working with developers, commercial teams, and external partners
