My client is a leading and growing Leading Commodities Trading firm and we are recruiting for a Legal Counsel to be based in the Singapore office. You will be given the opportunity to support the business on all legal related matters in the region, and work closely with stakeholders in the market. We are looking for candidates who are looking to scale their career in a leading name in the industry.
Responsibilities for this Legal Counsel - Commodities Trading Firm
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements
- Provide legally sound, commercially oriented advice to internal stakeholders across trading, freight, and support functions, addressing matters related to global physical commodities trading.
- Support formal dispute resolution processes, and contribute to trade and business development initiatives.
- Manage arbitration and litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions and oversee external counsel.
Requirements for this Legal Counsel - Commodities Trading Firm
- Bachelor's degree in law or equivalent law qualification, bar-qualified
- At least 6 - 8 years of relevant law firm experience / in-house experience with shipping / maritime / oil and gas experience.
- Strong expertise in international trade and dry shipping law is essential.
