Insurance Coverage Associate
Seeking an Insurance Coverage Attorney to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to work on complex, high‑stakes coverage matters while collaborating with experienced litigators and sophisticated insurance clients.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret a wide range of insurance policies, including commercial general liability, professional liability, excess/umbrella, property, and speciality policies
- Provide coverage opinions and advice on duty to defend, duty to indemnify, and allocation issues
- Handle insurance coverage litigation in state and federal courts, including drafting pleadings, dispositive motions, and discovery
- Represent insurers and/or policyholders in coverage disputes, declaratory judgement actions, and related bad faith matters
- Work closely with clients to develop practical, strategic solutions to coverage issues
- Participate in depositions, mediation, hearings, and court conferences as needed
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active bar admission in Florida; additional states a plus
- 2-8+ years of experience in insurance coverage (firm or in‑house experience considered)
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and research skills
- Experience handling coverage opinions and/or coverage litigation preferred
- Ability to manage multiple matters independently while working effectively in a team environment
