In-House Counsel - Prime Brokerage Services
A prominent Global Bank is in search of an attorney to join its prime services group and continue the company's expansion across the Southern US. This role presents an incredibly unique opportunity to be an immediate game-changer for an innovative portion of the bank's business while working for a close-knit, highly visible team. The position offers a market-competitive base + bonus compensation package, as well as hybrid flexibility.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver day-to-day legal guidance to Prime Brokerage team, supporting front-office and internal stakeholders on regulatory and transactional issues
- Draft, review, and negotiate different agreements, including ISDA documentation, equity derivative confirmations, total return swaps, custody agreements, and related transaction documents
- Assist in developing and refining standard templates and documentation processes
- Stay informed on evolving regulations, industry trends, and best practices, and advise stakeholders accordingly
- Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen processes for managing legal and regulatory risk
- Support strategic projects and new business initiatives by providing timely, well-researched legal analysis
- Manage relationships with external counsel and oversee legal spend effectively
- Ensure adherence to risk management principles and compliance standards in all activities
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) and licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
- 4+ years of experience at reputable law firm and/or in-house legal role within a financial institution
- Strong background in equity derivatives and synthetic prime brokerage, including negotiation under the ISDA framework
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
