Head of Legal & Compliance - Hedge Fund
- Oversee and lead legal matters and overall compliance management for the firm's secondary market business across the Asia-Pacific region, covering both onshore and offshore regulatory requirements (e.g., Hong Kong SFC, Singapore MAS).
- Lead legal strategy for secondary market investments, including fund interests, structured transactions, and bespoke liquidity solutions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant securities laws, fund regulations, and cross-border transaction requirements across key markets (U.S., China, Singapore, etc.).
- Partner with investment teams to structure and negotiate secondary transactions, including LP stake acquisitions, GP-led deals, and continuation vehicles.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks across deal lifecycle, fund operations, and investor relations.
- Liaise with external counsel, regulators, fund administrators, and internal teams to ensure seamless execution and governance.
- Enhance and improve the legal and compliance framework and architecture aligned with the firm's business growth, ensuring a robust compliance foundation amid rapid expansion.
- Stay up to date on regulatory changes across jurisdictions, promptly update internal policies and procedures, and provide compliance training and help foster a strong compliance culture.
- Collaborate closely with the global and headquarters compliance teams to ensure group standards are effectively implemented in the APAC region.
