Senior Attorney/Of Counsel - Litigation (California)

Our client is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to handle complex defense matters and play a meaningful role in case strategy, client counseling, and litigation management. This position is ideal for a seasoned lawyer who enjoys taking ownership of files, working collaboratively with colleagues, and advancing matters through all phases of litigation.

What You'll Do

• Manage a portfolio of defense litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Prepare and argue motions, draft legal briefs, pleadings, discovery, and other litigation-related documents.
• Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and other court-related proceedings.
• Work closely with attorneys across multiple practice groups and office locations to develop case strategy and deliver exceptional client service.
• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case developments, litigation strategy, and status updates.
• Participate in all aspects of pretrial preparation and case evaluation.

Desired Background

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active California Bar membership in good standing.
• At least eight (8) years of experience handling defense-side litigation matters.
• Background involving one or more of the following areas: catastrophic injury, product liability, construction litigation, habitability claims, transportation matters, or general liability defense.
• Demonstrated experience drafting and responding to discovery, preparing dispositive motions, and handling other substantive pretrial work.
• Prior experience taking and defending depositions and appearing in court.
• Ability to effectively examine and cross-examine witnesses is preferred.
• Trial experience, including service as second chair, is a strong advantage.
• Exceptional analytical, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Strong interpersonal abilities and a commitment to client service.
