General Liability Litigation - Of Counsel

Location: New York City, Long Island, or White Plains
Work Arrangement: Flexible Hybrid Schedule

Compensation: $170,000 - $225,000

General Liability Of Counsel Description

Our clients are seeking an Attorney with a minimum of 8 years of litigation experience to join their seasoned team representing clients in a broad range of matters, including general liability and casualty, construction-related lawsuits, transportation and trucking, and more. You will work closely with experienced Partners and colleagues invested in mentorship, training, and advancing your professional knowledge.

General Liability Of Counsel Responsibilities

  • Independently manage cases involving insurance defense, general liability, auto/transportation liability, and NYS Labor Law construction matters.
  • Collaborate with team members and Partners on complex, high-impact litigation, contributing to a dynamic and supportive team environment.
  • Handle regular court appearances and depositions, showcasing strong litigation strategy and advocacy skills.
  • Maintain close communication with clients, delivering timely updates, clear guidance, and exceptional service throughout each stage of litigation.

General Liability Of Counsel Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar
  • 8+ years of substantial litigation experience
  • Experience with insurance defense, premises liability, and general liability
  • Demonstrated first and/or second chair experience strongly preferred
  • Advanced understanding of NY Construction Law (Labor Law §§ 200, 240, 241) preferred
  • Experience with OSHA proceedings and regulatory compliance a plus
  • Background with Corporation Counsel or a District Attorney's Office is advantageous
  • Strong business acumen and project management skills
  • Tech-savvy, with proficiency in legal research tools and case management software
