General Liability / Insurance Defense Associate | New York, NY (Hybrid)
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a General Liability / Insurance Defense Associate with 2-8 years of litigation experience to join its growing New York office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-exposure liability matters, gain meaningful courtroom experience, and collaborate with a nationally respected team handling complex litigation for sophisticated clients.
What You'll Do:
- Handle all phases of general liability and insurance defense matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery, and conduct legal research.
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Attend court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
- Defend a wide variety of matters, including premises liability, transportation and trucking, construction accidents, catastrophic injury, product liability, and other complex tort claims.
- Partner with clients, carriers, and senior attorneys to develop litigation and defense strategies.
Who We're Looking For:
- 2-8 years of general liability, insurance defense, civil litigation, or casualty defense experience.
- Experience handling depositions, motion practice, and case management.
- Strong writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload while working collaboratively within a team.
- Admission to the New York Bar required.
