Our client, an insurance company in the TLC insurance space is looking to bring on a First Party Attorney. This person will be responsiblees for case assignments from inception to resolution; to appear in the courts in all venues in the metropolitan area, conduct EUOS and arbitrations. The position also includes motion work and preparing master arbitration documents with the AAA. The role will be based out of the firms Long Island City office on a hybrid schedule.

* Responds to emails and telephone messages in a timely manner.
* Provides all court appearance dates to the legal staff member assigned to such task.
* Provides timely reports to the managing attorney with respect to court and deposition appearances.
* Provides timely reports to the claims supervisor or examiner assigned to the case.
* Researches the law to remain current on issues of liability and regulatory issues, insurance coverage, etc.
* Provides legal advice to HIC with respect to liability, current law, etc. to encourage the speedy resolution of lawsuits.
* Appears in the courts in all venues in the metropolitan area or at a deposition on cases that are assigned to other attorneys in the office who may not be available to appear on their own case.
* Timely documents all activity on the file in the activity log of the file.
* Alerts the managing attorney of any problems arising in connection with his or her file, i.e. defaults, preclusion orders, orders striking the answer, judgments, excess verdicts, etc.

Prior experience in the no fault field including trials, motions, depositions, conferences, arbitrations, all legal documents; Juris Doctor degree
