About Us:
An AMLAW 100 firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Complex Litigation Associate to join our dynamic team. We handle a wide range of high-stakes matters including commercial disputes, catastrophic injury claims, product liability, and professional malpractice defense.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of litigation experience, with a strong background in complex civil litigation and insurance defense. You will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, conducting discovery, drafting motions, attending court hearings, and participating in trials and arbitrations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage complex litigation files from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
- Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trials
- Collaborate with partners and clients to develop case strategies
- Maintain timely and accurate case documentation
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Michigan (in good standing)
- 3-7 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or complex civil litigation
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Trial experience is a plus
