Associate General Counsel

We are seeking a Senior Health Care Attorney to serve as Associate General Counsel, providing strategic legal and risk management guidance on a wide range of healthcare transactional and regulatory matters. This role will focus on areas such as network development, pharmacy and specialty pharmacy operations, virtual care, information technology agreements, information security, and health information management.
Key Responsibilities
Provide legal counsel to hospital and physician leadership on complex corporate and regulatory issues, including:
- Corporate governance and strategic affiliations
- Telehealth and virtual care initiatives
- Federal and state compliance and reporting
- Hospital and specialty pharmacy operations
Draft, negotiate, and review a variety of agreements, including:
- Network collaboration and managed care contracts
- Software, SaaS, and technology agreements
- Medical equipment and communication technology service agreements
- Vendor and purchase agreements
Advise stakeholders on a broad spectrum of regulatory matters, such as:
- Health care fraud and abuse laws
- Physician recruitment and housing loan compliance
- CMS and Joint Commission standards
- HIPAA and other privacy regulations
- 340B Drug Pricing Program compliance
- Licensure and corporate practice of medicine requirements
- State and federal laboratory certification standards (e.g., CLIA)
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active licensure with the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience (15 years preferred), ideally within a law firm or academic medical center
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare regulatory and transactional law
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to high-quality client service and collaborative work
- Experience mentoring others and contributing to strategic planning
