Senior Litigation Counsel - General Liability (Hybrid | Dallas or Houston)
A nationally recognized organization with a strong reputation for handling complex, high-exposure disputes is seeking a seasoned Senior Litigation Counsel to join its Texas-based team in either Dallas or Houston. Responsibilities
- Represent clients in complex defense litigation matters, including general liability, premises liability, products liability, transportation, construction, and insurance-related disputes.
- Manage cases through all stages of litigation, from initial evaluation through trial, mediation, or settlement.
- Develop and execute litigation strategy, including early case assessment, motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Draft and argue pleadings, dispositive motions, briefs, and legal memoranda in state and federal courts.
- Conduct and defend depositions, manage written discovery, and collaborate with expert witnesses.
- Appear at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings on behalf of clients.
- Provide strategic guidance and regular reporting to clients, in-house counsel, and insurance representatives.
- Collaborate with attorneys across offices on multi-jurisdictional and complex matters.
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff.
- Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and overall case strategy.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of litigation experience, with a strong background in defense-side matters.
- Experience handling general liability, premises, products, construction, transportation, or insurance litigation.
- Ability to independently manage a full caseload.
- Admission to practice in Texas.
- Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Experience with depositions, motion practice, and court appearances.
- First-chair trial experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strong client relationships and deliver high-quality legal services.
