Senior Legal Counsel - Renewables
We are working with a fast-growing renewable energy developer to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel based in the Philippines. This role supports the legal and compliance aspects of utility-scale renewable energy projects, with a focus on project development, ethics, and corporate governance.
You'll be responsible for providing legal support across greenfield and brownfield developments, managing corporate housekeeping, and ensuring alignment with global compliance standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior legal professional to contribute meaningfully to the energy transition in Southeast Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support for renewable energy projects, including due diligence, partnerships, and commercial contracts.
- Draft legal memoranda and support internal approval processes for new projects.
- Advise on ethics and compliance matters, including localisation and implementation of global policies.
- Manage corporate housekeeping and company secretarial obligations.
- Oversee external counsel relationships and legal reporting.
- Deliver general legal advice and training to internal stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate:
- 10+ years of post-qualification experience, with both law firm and in-house exposure.
- Admitted to the Philippine Bar and fluent in English and Filipino.
- Strong attention to detail, independent mindset, and proactive approach.
- Experience in cross-border transactions and international legal environments is a plus.
- Expertise in M&A, construction, EPC/EPCM contracts, and renewable energy projects.
- Passionate about sustainability and contributing to the clean energy transition.
