Senior Derivatives Counsel - Hedge Fund Trading & Treasury
A leading investment firm is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its established legal team. This attorney will provide transactional and regulatory advice supporting hedge fund trading and treasury functions, while partnering with business leaders to deliver efficient, commercially minded legal solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and negotiate trading documentation, including ISDA master agreements, regulatory and non-regulatory CSAs, futures account, clearing and securities lending agreements.
- Advise trading, treasury, and operations teams on legal, credit, and operational issues related to trading and prime broker documentation or specific transaction terms.
- Collaborate with quantitative research and business stakeholders to provide legal, regulatory, and commercial insights on innovative opportunities.
- Monitor and interpret new regulations across jurisdictions and advise on compliance strategies; support regulatory compliance initiatives, including adapting to regulatory changes.
- Manage and supervise outside counsel relationships.
Required Skills:
- D. and 6+ years of experience in derivatives, trading documentation, and regulatory compliance at a top law firm or in-house within financial services.
- Deep knowledge of ISDA documentation, futures, OTC derivatives, and global regulatory frameworks.
- Strong ability to communicate complex legal concepts to senior stakeholders and collaborate across risk, tax, treasury, and operations teams.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in managing documentation and compliance processes.
