Position Summary

The Paralegal will support the Legal Department in a variety of legal and administrative tasks, including contract management, regulatory compliance, litigation support, and corporate governance. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and manage contracts, including vendor agreements, leases, and service contracts.
  • Assist with corporate governance matters, including maintaining corporate records and preparing board resolutions.
  • Support compliance efforts with federal, state, and local regulations applicable to senior living communities.
  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings for internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in responding to subpoenas, discovery requests, and other litigation-related matters.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel and internal departments as needed.
  • Maintain legal files and document management systems.
  • Track deadlines and ensure timely filings and renewals of licenses and registrations.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field.
  • Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in healthcare or a regulated industry.
  • Healthcare experience preferred; senior living, assisted living, or skilled nursing experience is highly competitive.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
