Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced General Liability Associate Attorney with 3-8 years of litigation experience to join our client's thriving practice. This is a great opportunity for a motivated litigator who enjoys handling diverse and complex matters across general liability, personal injury, premises liability, and related defense areas.
You will work within a high‑performing team and gain exposure to a wide variety of cases, with strong opportunities for professional growth, mentorship, and hands-on litigation experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload independently while collaborating closely with senior attorneys and partners
- Handle all phases of litigation, including court conferences, depositions, motion practice, and case strategy
- Draft pleadings, discovery responses, reports, and other litigation documents
- Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, and internal teams to keep matters moving and maintain strong relationships
- Evaluate cases, assess exposure, and develop defense strategies
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active admission to the New York Bar
- 3-8 years of litigation experience in general liability, personal injury defense, premises liability, or insurance defense
- Background in trucking, transportation, or construction/labor law is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240, and 241, as well as OSHA-related matters, is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Compensation & Benefits
This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $150,000 to $190,000, depending on experience, location, and other job‑related factors. In addition, this position may qualify for discretionary bonuses.
