The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a CaseSmart Counsel, Charges Attorney to join its fully remote team. This position can be performed from anywhere in the United States and focuses on defending administrative agency charges and attorney demand letters on behalf of management-side clients.

This role is ideal for employment attorneys seeking sophisticated legal work with greater flexibility than a traditional law firm partnership track. Attorneys benefit from reduced billable expectations, no business development requirements, and no required business travel while maintaining access to the resources and support of a global employment law platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage administrative agency charges from inception through resolution.
  • Draft persuasive position statements and responses to agency requests for information.
  • Represent clients in settlement negotiations and remote mediations.
  • Handle attorney demand letters and pre-litigation employment matters.
  • Communicate directly with clients and administrative agencies.
  • Manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines and client expectations.
  • Provide strategic guidance regarding employment law risks and exposure.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar license in the attorney's state of residence.
  • Minimum of 6 years of employment law experience required.
  • Experience handling administrative agency charges at the federal and/or state level.
  • Experience drafting position statements and representing clients in hearings or mediations.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Compensation & Work-Life Balance

  • 100% remote position anywhere in the United States.
  • Compensation range of $130,000 to $165,000, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
  • Reduced billable hour expectations set at 1500 hours annually compared to traditional law firm roles.
  • No business development requirements.
  • No required business travel.
