AML Consultant - Private Equity - Berlin (m/w/d)
Our client, an expanding compliance consultancy firm supporting private equity funds, is seeking an experienced AML professional to strengthen its advisory and monitoring function.
Key Responsibilities
AML Advisory, Governance & Client Management
- Act as key account manager for assigned VC/PE fund clients, serving as their primary AML/CFT point of contact.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise on AML/CTF regulatory requirements and best practices in Germany and relevant EU frameworks.
- Support client management with complex compliance questions and prepare decision papers or recommendations where necessary.
Policies, Controls & Framework Development
- Draft, implement, and maintain AML/CFT policies, procedures, and internal governance structures.
- Prepare and update AML/CFT risk assessments and client‑specific risk analyses.
- Develop management reports, internal control documentation, and compliance frameworks aligned with regulatory expectations.
Regulatory Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments in AML/CTF and translate them into actionable measures for clients.
- Liaise with auditors and supervisory authorities, ensuring well‑coordinated communication and thorough documentation.
- Support preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring high-quality submissions and follow‑up.
Training & Awareness
- Develop and deliver AML/CTF training programs for clients' staff and stakeholders.
- Promote awareness of financial crime risks and responsibilities across client organisations.
Your Profile
- Several years of relevant professional experience in AML/CTF compliance, ideally within financial services, consulting, or fund structures.
- Degree in law, business administration, or a comparable qualification (e.g., CAMS or similar).
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with a structured and solution-oriented approach.
- Confident, assertive communication style and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent command of English and German, both written and spoken.
