AML Advisory - AVP - Corporate Banking
About the Role
Our client, a leading international corporate bank, is seeking an experienced AML Advisory professional to join its Financial Crime Compliance team in Hong Kong. This role will focus on providing AML/CFT and sanctions advisory support to corporate banking businesses, while partnering closely with stakeholders across Compliance, Risk, and Front Office functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide AML/CFT and sanctions advisory support to corporate banking businesses and control functions.
- Review complex transactions, high-risk client cases, sanctions-related matters, and financial crime risk issues.
- Conduct AML/CFT risk assessments and provide guidance on onboarding, ongoing due diligence, and transaction-related matters.
- Support transaction monitoring and sanctions screening governance frameworks.
- Investigate suspicious activities and support regulatory reporting requirements where necessary.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance AML/CFT and sanctions policies, procedures, and controls.
- Perform compliance testing, monitoring, and gap analysis on financial crime controls.
- Support regulatory initiatives, system enhancement projects, and remediation programs.
- Deliver AML and sanctions training to internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
- Professional AML qualification preferred (e.g. CAMS, CAMLP, AAMLCP).
- 4+ years of experience in AML Advisory, Financial Crime Compliance, AML Investigations, Sanctions, or related compliance functions within banking.
- Strong knowledge of AML/CFT regulations, sanctions requirements, and financial crime risk management.
- Experience supporting corporate banking, commercial banking, or wholesale banking businesses.
- Familiarity with transaction monitoring systems, sanctions screening tools, and AML investigations.
- Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent English and Chinese communication skills.
