The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Vice President, EPC Contracts to join their executive leadership team. This is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing enterprise-wide contract strategy, negotiations, administration, and risk management across a portfolio of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will partner closely with executive leadership, legal, commercial, business development, operations, and project teams to drive favorable commercial outcomes while ensuring appropriate risk allocation and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead negotiation, development, and execution of complex EPC agreements and other major project contracts.
- Develop and implement enterprise-wide contract management strategies, policies, and best practices.
- Partner with legal and operational stakeholders to evaluate and mitigate contractual and commercial risks.
- Provide strategic guidance on claims management, change orders, amendments, notices, and dispute resolution.
- Support project teams with contract interpretation and execution throughout project delivery.
- Lead negotiations with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other key project stakeholders.
- Build and mentor a high-performing contracts organization, including talent development and succession planning.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on commercial strategy, business growth initiatives, and risk management objectives.
- Evaluate and implement systems, processes, and technologies to improve contract administration and operational efficiency.
- Prepare and present contract performance metrics, risk assessments, and executive-level reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of contract management experience supporting large-scale EPC, power generation, energy, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing and developing contract management professionals.
- Extensive experience negotiating and administering high-value EPC agreements.
- Strong understanding of construction contracting, commercial risk allocation, and contract administration.
- Experience partnering closely with internal legal teams on contract risk, compliance, and dispute resolution matters.
- Demonstrated experience within a public company or similarly complex corporate environment.
- Proven ability to influence executive leadership and drive strategic business decisions.
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Track record of improving contract management processes, systems, and operational effectiveness
