Senior Restructuring Counsel
We are currently partnered with a leading global investment and advisory firm that is currently seeking a Senior Restructuring Counsel on to join their team at the Managing Director level. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic in-house legal team and serve as the lead transaction counsel while working closely with business leaders and deal teams on a broad range of business, transactional, and deal matters across a variety of business lines. This individual will have the opportunity to manage all aspects of deals from the front line, from structuring and strategy through legal due diligence and documentation to closing. The ideal candidate will have considerable restructuring experience largely within the distressed asset space, and will be able to hit the ground running immediately
This role can work on a fully remote basis, or in their Boston location on a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Transactional Legal function in North America
- Participate in transactions as a key member of the legal deal team
- Advise the business deal team on legal strategy for structuring transactions
- Prepare, review, and negotiate primary and ancillary legal documentation for transactions
- Represent the Firm at bankruptcy and/or insolvency proceedings throughout North America
Qualifications:
- JD from an ABA accredited law school and qualified bar admission
- 7+ years of experience with prior in-house experience preferred, but not required
- Bankruptcy/insolvency/restructuring legal experience required
- Extensive experience handling complex commercial and business transactions
- Committed, collaborative, and entrepreneurial mindset
