Employment Counsel - Financial Services Industry
A Top Hedge Fund is currently seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to jointheir leading team in NY. This role provides an opportunity to advise on a wide range of employment law and HR matters in a complex, highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on employment law issues including workplace investigations, terminations, discrimination, harassment, accommodations, compensation, benefits, recruiting, and immigration.
- Develop and maintain employment agreements, templates, and policy playbooks.
- Collaborate with HR and business leaders to design compliant, scalable employment practices.
- Oversee outside counsel in managing disputes and litigation.
- Track regulatory changes and implement proactive compliance strategies.
- Support organizational initiatives such as restructurings, compensation programs, and cross-functional investigations.
Qualifications:
- J.D. and active bar membership (New York preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of employment law experience, with a mix of law firm and in-house roles.
- Proven ability to deliver practical, business-focused advice in complex environments.
- Strong communication skills and sound judgment.
- Experience managing outside counsel and leading cross-functional projects.
- Preferred: Knowledge of executive compensation, benefits, or international employment law.
