Trademark Paralegal - Leading Financial Services Firm
Our client, a highly respected global financial services organization that is looking to add a Trademark Paralegal to its legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys managing trademark portfolios, working closely with attorneys and business stakeholders, and playing a key role in protecting a sophisticated global brand.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative legal department supporting intellectual property matters across trademarks, domain names, and patents, while partnering directly with senior legal leadership on strategic initiatives.
Office Locations: New York City, Long Island, New jersey, Massachusetts, Philadelphia area & Baltimore, Maryland
Job Responsibilities:
- Managing domestic and international trademark portfolios, including monitoring deadlines and coordinating filings.
- Preparing and filing trademark prosecution documents with the USPTO.
- Tracking and managing global domain name registrations and renewals.
- Drafting correspondence, status reports, and client updates regarding trademark, domain name, and patent matters.
- Assisting with patent maintenance, annuities, and related administrative requirements.
- Maintaining accurate records, databases, and docketing systems.
- Generating intellectual property reports and ensuring portfolio data remains current and organized.
- Coordinating with outside counsel and internal stakeholders regarding ongoing IP matters.
- Conducting legal and factual research related to trademarks, domain names, and patent matters.
- Supporting strategic intellectual property initiatives alongside senior legal leadership.
Qualifications
- Paralegal certification, bachelor's degree, or equivalent legal experience.
- 4+ YOE in a paralegal or similar type of role, supporting trademark, intellectual property and/or patents
- Experience working in an intellectual property, legal, or corporate environment.
- Knowledge of trademark prosecution and portfolio management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and business professionals.
