About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Associate with professional experience in banking and financial supervisory law for a top‑tier boutique law firm with an outstanding reputation in financial regulatory work. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a specialised team working at the forefront of regulatory developments in Germany and the EU.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising German and international banks on banking and supervisory regulatory requirements
  • Supporting payment institutions, investment firms, stock exchanges, and insurance companies with regulatory compliance
  • Handling licensing and authorisation matters, including interactions with supervisory authorities
  • Advising on capital markets regulation and related regulatory frameworks
  • Preparing legal assessments, opinions, and guidance on complex regulatory topics
  • Monitoring and analysing developments in EU and German supervisory law
  • Supporting clients in communication with BaFin, ECB, ESMA, and other authorities
  • Assisting with ongoing regulatory projects, including implementation of new legal requirements

Your Profile

  • Fully qualified lawyer with excellent legal academic results
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in financial regulatory law
  • Experience interacting with German and EU supervisory authorities (e.g., BaFin, ECB, ESMA)
  • Skilled in analysing complex regulatory frameworks and translating them into practical advice
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in professional legal settings
  • A doctorate (Dr. jur.) is highly welcome but not mandatory
  • Team‑oriented, proactive, and able to work independently with a high level of responsibility
