Position Summary

As a Medical Malpractice Associate, you will play a critical role in managing complex litigation matters involving healthcare providers, hospitals, and long-term care facilities. You will be entrusted with significant responsibilities from the outset, including direct client interaction, courtroom advocacy, and strategic case development.

This role is designed for attorneys who are seeking long-term professional growth within a firm that values integrity, teamwork, and client service. You will be supported by experienced partners and colleagues who are committed to mentorship and collaborative success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a diverse caseload of medical malpractice claims
  • Conduct depositions, court appearances, and motion practice
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and execution
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates and legal guidance
  • Contribute to legal research, drafting, and trial preparation

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Admission to practice law in New York State
  • Minimum of 1 year of defense litigation experience; medical malpractice experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with legal project management is a plus

  • Competitive salary range: $130,000 - $190,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications
