Labor & Employment Paralegal

Overview

The Paralegal supports attorneys on labor and employment and litigation matters and manages related data, documentation, and legal technology. This role reports directly to the Senior Managing Paralegal and plays a key role in supporting the company's litigation and employment-related legal efforts.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage litigation calendars, deadlines, and responses to subpoenas
  • Act as a liaison with outside counsel, including support for discovery, depositions, and document production
  • Oversee litigation support and legal technology used in the organization's litigation efforts
  • Perform quality control of document management systems and ensure accuracy and completeness of records
  • Manage, analyze, and report on data related to litigation, investigations, employee relations matters, and other employment-related claims
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating departmental resources, templates, and databases
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams throughout the company
  • Oversee corporate legal assistants and litigation technology tools
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five (5) years of experience supporting litigation and/or labor and employment matters in a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Demonstrated high ethical standards and commitment to professional integrity
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules and travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DocuSign, NAVEX, Legal Files, or similar document management systems; Tableau experience a plus
  • Proficiency with e-discovery tools and litigation support technology
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and analyze legal and business information
  • Knowledge of the structure and responsibilities of a legal department and ability to provide legal support under attorney supervision
  • Paralegal certificate
  • Prior in-house legal department experience
