Intellectual Property Counsel - Fortune 500 Company
A Fortune 500 Company is looking to hire an Intellectual Property Counsel. This Holding Company owns and operates some of the most iconic brands in the home care, pet care, gardening, and personal care industries. Prioritizing sustainability, consumer insights, and innovation, this client is not only widely revered publicly, but also has a fantastic internal culture.
The role is located in Madison, WI. The ideal candidate is local to the area, but this company is open to remote, non-local candidates as well.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Patent drafting and filing for company's various brands
- Strategically advise company on IP issues and develop policies
- Support Products and Engineering teams
- Manage International Patent and Trademark portfolio
- No litigation is required for this role, but this role will include assisting and managing outside counsel in litigation
- Draft, review, and negotiate IP transactions and licensing agreements
Requirements:
- JD from accredited Law School
- 7+ years of in-house and/or law firm experience
- Expertise in intellectual property, patent, and trademark law
- Patent prosecution experience
- Ability to work collaboratively within different business functions and manage outside counsel
- 3 days a week in office for local candidates (Madison, WI)
- Open to remote work for non-local candidates
