The Opportunity

A well‑regarded law firm is seeking a Healthcare Transactions & Regulatory Associate to join its growing healthcare practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated healthcare transactions while advising clients on complex regulatory and compliance matters impacting healthcare providers, physician groups, and healthcare‑focused investors.

The ideal candidate will enjoy practicing at the intersection of deal work and regulatory strategy, and will thrive in a collaborative, hands‑on environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise healthcare clients on transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investments, and physician practice acquisitions
  • Draft and negotiate transactional documents such as asset and stock purchase agreements, operating agreements, employment agreements, and management services agreements
  • Provide regulatory guidance related to Stark Law, Anti‑Kickback Statute, HIPAA, HITECH, and other federal and state healthcare regulations
  • Support due diligence efforts with a focus on regulatory risk, compliance issues, and reimbursement considerations
  • Counsel clients on provider alignment, physician compensation structures, corporate practice of medicine, and fee‑splitting issues
  • Assist with healthcare regulatory matters involving Medicare and Medicaid, licensing, certification, and change‑of‑ownership filings
  • Collaborate closely with partners and senior attorneys on complex, multi‑disciplinary healthcare matters

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school and active bar admission (or eligibility to waive in)
  • 3-6+ years of experience in healthcare transactions and/or healthcare regulatory work
  • Experience advising healthcare providers, physician groups, health systems, or healthcare‑focused investors
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory frameworks impacting transactional work
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
